When in Google Classroom, you may want to send an email to all students in the class, and you may encounter this error message:

Google Classroom's ability to send students and parents emails assumes that your organization uses Google's GMail service as an email provider.

At Living Sky School Division, we do not use Gmail, we use Microsoft's Exchange as an email provider, so the email functionality of Google Classroom is unfortunately not going to work at this time.

Google Classroom will still send student's emails, such as notifications for assignments, but the teacher is not able to send email to their students from within the program.

We are not able to turn on GMail for our users at this time.

If we become aware of a way to fix this issue without disrupting our email system, we will investigate it.
