Open LMS - User Enrollment

Enrolling other teachers to your course:

Click the gear at the top right corner of the screen to open the administration menu. Select Users to take you to the user enrollment page.

Click the Enrol Users button at the top or bottom:

Start typing a someone's name in the box. Let it auto complete and click the right one.

Make sure it's the right full email address - some people will have Light of Christ accounts which won't be able to access the course. Use their lskysd.ca account.

If the name does not autocomplete into the list, they are either already in or they need to sign up.  (just go to the main page at https://classroom.edonline.sk.ca/ and click Log in with Living Sky Account.)

You can select enroll as a student by default, or change it to teacher.

For teachers, there are two different types:

Teacher - can control everything in the course including updating, changing, deleting course contents, etc.

Non-Editing Teacher - These people can view, assign marks, etc. They will not be able to edit the course.

I normally will have one person the teacher and the rest who are assisting students or just needing course materials be added in a Non-Editing teachers. The exception to this is if you have Teacher Only material like this:

With courses with Teacher materials as a section there, Non-Editing teachers can't see this so I set every staff member as a teacher so they can access this.

From the official documentation:

Open LMS Guide

(Page 19)
3.2.1.1.2. Teacher

The Teacher role can be assigned in the context of a course to give the user the ability to modify course content and assign grades to students.

3.2.1.1.3. Non-editing teacher

The Non-editing teacher role can be assigned in the context of a course to give the user the ability to assign grades to students but not modify course content.

Adding students are the same way - autocomplete the name, select student. If the email doesn't show up, tell them to sign in once using the button and then you can add them after they do this:

With student's joining the course for the first time, please have your admin fill in the distance ed registration form so we have an idea on the number of students who use Open LMS materials, etc.
